5 Tage Praslin (Hotel Marechiaro), 5 Tage La Digue (Island Lodge) und 4 Tage Mahe (Berjaya Beau Vallon) im
November 2001
In Praslin war ich zunächst ein bißchen enttäuscht. Das Hotel Marechiaro hat zwar phantastisches
Essen und die Bungalows in dem Tropengarten waren auch sehr schön, aber der Strand... erst
dachte ich, das Wasser sei voller Seegras (war es vorne an auch), aber später merkte ich, daß an
der Grande Anse Korallenriffe im Wasser sind (man lernt halt immer dazu), so daß das schwimmen dort
nicht sehr einladend war. Nach einem Ruhetag am Pool zum akklimatisieren (allerdings nachmittags
zu Fuß in den "Ort" grande Anse spaziert), hab ich dann den vom Hotel angebotenen Shuttle-Bus zur
Anse Volbert genommen und die Farbe des Wassers dort war einfach toll (siehe
Fotos).
Dann habe ich die (von TSS organsierte) Tour nach St. Pierre, Curieuse und Cousin mitgemacht und
das war einfach klasse, zumal man auch alle Strände der Nordhälfte Praslins vom Meer aus zu sehen
bekam. Mittags gab es kreolisches Essen (d.h. auf großen Grills wurden Fische gegrillt) und man aß
dann nach Reiseunternehmen getrennt (die Führungen waren gemischt, da ging es nach Sprache).
Allerdings hätte man uns vielleicht vorher sagen sollen, daß man auf Cousin unbedingt Autan
dabeihaben sollte... überhaupt: die Mücken haben mich auf Praslin fast aufgefressen, ich hab mir
dann ein Schweizer Mittel namens ANTIBRUMM im Hotel gekauft und danach wurde es ein bißchen
besser. Da es an der Grande Anse auch Strandflöhe gab, die mich gebissen haben, sahen meine
Beine tagelang ziemlich verboten aus.
Einen Tag bin ich ins Vallee de Mai gefahren und auch das war ziemlich beeindruckend. Teilweise kam
man sich vor wie im Dschungel und immer, wenn man sich die Zeit nahm, einfach mal
stehenzubleiben und zu gucken, entdeckte man etwas besonderes (das war übrigens auf allen Inseln
so). Ich bin auch mit einem öffentlichen Bus gefahren, aber ich hatte Glück, daß der immer fast
sofort kam, denn die fallen wohl auch gerne schonmal aus, so daß viele Leute
dann per Anhalter hinten auf den Kastenwagen mitfahren.
Auf La Digue war ich mit der Island Lodge superzufrieden. Die angebotenen
Schnorcheltouren jeden Morgen waren schon klasse. Einen Tag sind wir nach Marianne Island gefahren und das war eigentlich der schönste
Vormittag meines Urlaubes. Beim schnorcheln haben wir Haie, eine Schildkröte und einen
Napoleonfisch gesehen (ausgerechnet an dem Morgen hatte ich natürlich KEINE Unterwasserkamera
dabei *grummel*) und danach am Strand waren wir nur zu dritt auf dieser unbewohnten Insel und
das war einfach genial.
Ansonsten bin ich mit dem Fahrrad über La Digue gefahren und muß sagen, daß ich den Strand Anse
Source d'Argent zwar ganz nett finde, aber es gibt schönere Strände auf den Seychellen. Grande
Anse und Petite Anse sind schöner, aber leider gibt es dort keinerlei Schatten (zumindest vormittags
nicht).
Der Strand vor dem Hotel war auch nur klein (bei Ebbe kaum vorhanden) und im Wasser konnte man
sich auch nur in das Korallenriff setzen. Da es aber die Schnorcheltouren gab und halt auch Alternativen
in der Nähe, fand ich das nicht so schlimm.
Gewohnt habe ich im Yellow-House. Das Zimmer hatte im Untergeschoß ein Riesenbadezimmer, aber
oben wäre es für zwei Leute doch ganz schön eng geworden (war vielleicht aber auch ein
Einzelzimmer, ich glaube, die anderen Zimmer waren größer). Ich mußte zwar ein Tempo in die
Schranktür klemmen, damit sie zubleibt, aber insgesamt war das Zimmer schon irgendwie knuffig.
Auf Mahe war ich in der Beau Vallon Bay und nach 10 Tagen abseits von allem weltlichen (keine
Nachrichten, nix mitgekriegt) war es erstmal wieder ein Kulturschock, CNN gucken zu können. Das
Hotel war auch viel größer als die beschaulichen auf Praslin und La Digue und das war
eine Umstellung. Der Strand war aber sehr schön zum schwimmen.
Einen Vormittag war ich in Victoria und bin dort durch die
Geschäfte gelaufen bzw. hab mir den Markt angesehen. Leider hat es mal wieder kräftig geregnet (hab auf Mahe wesentlich mehr Regen
abbekommen als auf Praslin und La Digue) und das war nicht in einer halben
Stunde vorbei.
Einen Tag hab ich noch eine Inseltour mitgemacht (USD 55), mit Führung durch den Botanischen
Garten (da ich aber schon jede Menge Coco de Mers und Riesenschildkröten auf den anderen Inseln
gesehen hatte, war das eher uninteressant), Besuch der Mission Lodge, Tea Factory, Mittagessen
im Hotel Allamanda und danach noch schwimmen und Besuch des Craft villages (die 20 Minuten dort
waren aber viel zu wenig).
Es war schon toll auf den Seychellen, ich fand es richtig spannend, weil ich noch nie in solchen
Breitengraden war und von daher so ziemlich alles neu für mich war. Von TSS hab ich mich gut
betreut gefühlt, sie waren immer zuverlässig zur Stelle und die Leute sehr nett, aber wenn sie mehr
verkaufen wollen, sollten sie die Leute wohl besser informieren, welche Ausflüge sie anbieten. Die typischen Bilder, die ich von den Seychellen mitgebracht habe, sind die Fischer, die mit ihren
Booten zurückkommen und dann auf Palmenblättern am Straßenrand ihre Fische sofort zum Verkauf
anbieten und die Menschen, die auf den Pritschenwagen (oder wie immer sie heißen) hinten drauf
mitfahren (als typisches Transportmittel).

I have been to the Seychelles in November/December 2001 for two weeks and stayed 5 days on Praslin (Hotel Marechiaro), 5 days on La Digue (Island Lodge) and 4 on Mahe (Berjaya Beau Vallon). And I would advise everybody not to stay just on one island becuase the three main islands each have something else to offer.
On Praslin I did not like the beach Grande Anse very much. You cannot
swim there and I found sand-lice there which have biten me. In addition to the
hundreds of moscitos which liked me enough to want to eat me, I had legs that
looked like I had measles - somehow all these insects prefer legs and feet for
their bites ;-)
But Praslin has many things to offer. When I first saw Anse Volbert, I remained
with my mouth open because the color of the water is amazing. And the morning in
Vallee de Mai was impressing as well. Every now and then I just stood and looked
around and each time I discovered something else which was worth looking at. My
advise is to take time and not hurry through the park.
One day I made a guided tour to Curieuse, St. Pierre and Aride. That was worth
the money as well. We saw all the beaches on the north side of Praslin and the
natural parks on Curieuse and Aride are interesting as well. If you go to Aride,
don't forget anti-moscito-spray as the insects there are even worse than on
Praslin.
La Digue was my preferite island during my vacation. The Island Lodge
offered snorkeling trips every morning and I liked that very much. The
snorkeling trip to Marianne Island was the best morning of my vacation as during
the snorkeling we saw sharks and a turtle. Afterwards I went to the beach of
this unhabited island and that was great as well.
The famous beach Anse Source d'Argent is not bad, but I liked Grand Anse and
Petit Anse better. Unfortunately in the mornings you will not find any shadow
there and when I was there the water was full of jellyfishes, so I couldn't even
go swimming. But it was nice riding around in a bicicle on La Digue. There are
only a few cars on the island and life there is very quiet. I liked that.
Back on Mahe it was different as I found much more rain there as on La Digue and Praslin. And the hotel was bigger so I had to get used to be back in civilisation :-) One morning I went to Victoria to do some shopping and visit the market. And one day I made guided roundtrip through the island. That was interesting because we stopped at the Mission Lodge, the tea factory, ate at Hotel Allamanda and went to the crafts village (but stayed there only 20 minutes which was not long enough). During this trip we enjoyed a lot of nice panoramic views and saw amazing beaches.
All in all the Seychelles are worth going there for the lots of natural beauty they offer. But before going there you must be aware that this beauty has it's price. The Seychelles are expensive but I think it was worth the money I spent there... if you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Sono stata sui Seychelles per due settimane in novembre/dicembre 2001. Ero 5 giorni a Praslin (Hotel Marechiaro), 5 a La Digue (Island Lodge) e 4 a Mahe (Berjaya Beau Vallon).
A Praslin mi sono trovata molto bene al hotel Marechiaro che e' di
proprietari italiani. Il cibo in quell'albergo e' italiano-creol e mi e'
piaciuto tanto! Purtroppo la spiaggia Grand Anse non e' molto bella, ma
l'albergo offre un servicio shuttle all'Anse Volbert tutti i giorni. L'Anse
Volbert invece e' molto bella. Solo vedendo i colori del mare era bellissimo.
Una mattina sono andata al Vallee de Mai. Vale la pena non correre sul parco ma
andare piano e fermarsi ogni tanto per guardare intorno. E' anche un'esperienza
andarci con i mezzi pubblici... :-)))
Un giorno ho fatto una gita a Curieuse, St. Pierre ed Aride ed anche quella gita
era interessante. Curieuse e Aride sono parchi naturali e ci hanno guiadto e
spiegato tutto. Per Aride bisogna portare anti-zanzare-spray perche' ad Aride le
zanzare sono peggio che a Praslin. Per Praslin in generale direi che e' meglio
portare qualcosa anti-zanzare (Autan non basta!) perche' mi hanno mangiata viva.
Al Marechiaro ho comprato una bottiglia ti "Antibrumm" che mi ha
ridatto pace. Ma alle Seychelles vendono anche un spray chiamato "Peaceful
sleep" che dev'essere abbastanza sufficente.
La Digue mi e' piaciuto ti piu'. E' l'isola piu' piccola delle tre
maggiori isole dei Seychelles e la vita li va piano e tranquillo. La spiaggia
dell'Island Lodge non e' bello per chi ha voglia di nuotare ma l'albergo offre
gite in barca tutte le mattine e quelle gite sono molto belle. Per me la gita a
Marinne Island era la piu' bella mattina della mia vacanza. Andando con le
maschere sott'acqua abbiamo visto dei squali ed una tartaruga. Dopo questa
nuotata sono andata sulla spiaggia di questa isola disabitata e mi son sentita
come in paradiso...
Ho noleggiata una bicicletta per i giorni a La Digue (controllate i freni!) ed i
pomerriggi sono andata a scoprire La Digue. La famosa spiaggia Anse Source
d'Argent non e' male, ma ci sono spiagge piu' belle. Grand Anse e Petit Anse
sono molto belle, ma purtroppo non c'e' neanche una traccia di ombra.
Mahe invece e' per chi non ama il silenzio. Pero' a Mahe ho trovato piu' pioggia che a La Digue e Praslin. L'Albergo era anche piu grande e ho sentito molto la differenza. Vale la pena andare a Victoria per vedere i negozi ed il mercato. Un giorno ho fatto una gita sull'isola e ci siamo fermati a Mission Lodge, Tea Factory ed al Crafts Village (i 20 minuti li erano troppo pocchi pero'). C'erano belle viste panoramiche ed abbiamo visto anche delle belle spiagge.
Tutto sommato mi e' piacituo alle Seychelles. E' un paradiso per chi ama la natura. A chi invece in vacanza piace ballare tutta la notte e dormire di giorno le Seychelles sono il posto sbagliato... se volete sapere qualcosa di piu', mandate mi un messaggio e-mail....
